Libra Dovetail Rings In addition to the Libra Alt-Az adjustable plate, Optec's Libra Dovetail Systems line includes a number of standard Celestron and Meade dovetail mounting kits and tube rings.

Optec can also design and manufacture custom length dovetails up to 29-inches in length. Refer to the current price list (page 16) for a full list of the Libra dovetail offerings.

Custom Dovetail Bars

Optec has designed and manufactured a number of custom length dovetail bars for easier balancing. The OTA can be pushed forward within a mount cradle to balance a heavy load.

John Gammill uses a custom modified tandem bar with Libra Alt-Az adjustable plate for his C14 and AT8RC tandem mounted scopes. Each required a custom length dovetail bar to assist with balance issues.

Offsetting the instrument payload weight requires the entire OTA to be moved forward in the mount cradle. These are a few photos of the final extended dovetails.

Gary Cole uses a 29-inch extended dovetail bar to balance the load for his Perseus 4-port Instrument Selector.
