Running the Lock

Once the Calibration is complete running the lock is easy. All you need to do is start your guide program, select a star (preferably a bright one with a good elevation for the initial focus at the beginning of the night) and click on FocusLock's Start button. FocusLock will refocus your system and maintain that focus for the rest of the night. It is best to tell your guide software to avoid double stars. As long as the system is guiding and FocusLock receives images the system will automatically adjust for any changes in focus detected in the guide camera. Because the main camera and guide camera are parfocal and attached to the same focuser your images will stay in focus all night long.
